My Mam was taken away from us far too soon. Nobody knew she was bad as she died of an enlarged heart, but she is never far from us and always in our thoughts and heart. Never a day goes by without thinking of her and even though she didn't see my Daughter (and my Son was only seven months old) we always talk about her and they always ask about her and what she was like.
Just the day before she died we had all been to Flamingo Land for a day trip and really enjoyed it. Needless to say that was our last day together.
Her funeral went as well as the day can go with so many people turning out to say farewell to her. She was a very well liked person and knew just about everyone in Boldon as she worked in the Corner Shop. It was great as she got all the gossip!!!
She loved her family and we were always at her house as we loved being with her. She made everyone around her happy and very welcome always.
We are all just really sad we didn't get the chance to say goodbye to her as her death was so sudden and even now after six years I still can't believe she has gone.
We all love you so much Mam and I know you will be having a ball in heaven as you are a lovely person and everyone will love you.

Footprints
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you."
